Thank you for your interest in participating in our
Back to School Food Drive Contest!

Why is it important to be able to provide food to children in our community?

Children in Ontario make up a significant portion of food bank users. Research has linked childhood hunger to negative academic and health outcomes, such as impaired learning, decreased productivity, and a higher risk of mental health challenges and chronic conditions like asthma. The effects of childhood hunger can be far-reaching, making it more challenging for individuals who grow up in poverty to break free from its grasp as adults. For many children in Ontario, school-provided lunches may be their sole source of sustenance in a day.
