We're hiring an Operations Manager!

Parkdale Community Food Bank is looking for an Operations Manager to manage the daily workings of the food bank, support clients, supervise ordering and inventory and communicate with the Parkdale community including donors. We are looking for an individual who can be the face of the food bank for our clients and our donors, someone who can lead a team of volunteers and support the mission of the food bank of serving nutritional support for our community in a place of dignity.


  • Assistance and support to program staff regarding the daily operations of food bank program.

  • Placing and receiving food orders, and preparing food for distribution.

  • Working directly with clients, completing client intake and assessment, as well as providing information and referrals and other support clients may require (housing, legal, etc.).

  • Working with staff and board of directors to further program development and community responsiveness.

  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenging situations.

  • Verbal and written proficiency in English.

  • An ability to speak other languages is an asset.

  • Valid G2 or G driver's l


  • Candidates with experience related to social or community work, community development and/or related skills are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working with diverse populations utilizing anti-oppression, community building, and participant-centred approaches to practice.

  • Experience with communications and customer services.

  • Proven history of following through on tasks to completion.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team approach.

  • Lived experience of poverty or food bank use is an asset.

Availability: 30-35 hours/week Salary: $23/hr
