For one week the board of directors for Parkdale Community Food Bank and local resident activists will be clients of the food bank. We are doing this fundraising campaign not only to raise money for our foodbank (though that's a big goal!) We all would like to educate ourselves and our community on how our members live and what challenges they face in order to improve our services and get greater support for the foodbank’s activities.
The Parkdale Community Food Bank is a grass roots organization, founded by volunteers in November 2007, after the threatened closure of the 25 years old Saint Phillip's Pantry. At that time, Parkdale's food bank was at risk of disappearing.
For the last ten years we've made it our mission to provide food for
those in need, the hungry and the impoverished.
