On July 15th, our volunteers, community members, and staff showed up to celebrate the opening of our new location at 263 Dunn Avenue.
The days rain didn't stop us from celebrating this exciting milestone as we welcomed our community in to see the fruits of our labour.
During the opening celebration, community members mingled over cold drinks, free ice cream, and baked goods provided by Robinson Bread.
Community members also had the opportunity to enter a raffle containing some amazing prizes including Jay's Tickets, a gift basket from Likely General, gift cards to Type Books and
Terroni, and much more!
The proceeds from all raffle ticket sales will go towards our programs and services.
Our new location, located in the heart of Parkdale, is fully accessible and will provide us with the opportunity to return to a shopping model.
With the shopping model, service users will now be able to select their own grocery items, instead of receiving a pre-made grocery hamper.
Our new location also features large windows at street level, allowing us to begin the process of growing our own food! These beautiful grow units were designed and installed by the incredible team at etobiGrow (pictured on the left).
We want to thank everyone who has supported our mission these past years. Without the kindness and hard work of our community we would have never been able to reach this exciting milestone. We can't wait to see what this next chapter of our journey has in store.
