Winter Community Newsletter 2026

Thank you for a year of impact and progress!

As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for all the milestones we achieved together. This year has brought change, progress, and new opportunities to better serve our community.

Thanks to your support we have been able to:

  • Assist the community through our delivery program

  • Serve over 14,000 families through our drop-in grocery program

  • Celebrate the monumental milestone of opening our new home at 5 Brock Avenue.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without your generosity and support. Each contribution, whether it was your time, a donation, or simply spreading the word about our programs, has made an extraordinary impact.

Thank you for being part of our community.

In January We Officially Moved to 5 Brock Ave

In January we made the move to 5 Brock Ave. We hosted the grand opening celebration of our new, permanent home in February to welcome the community. Since opening at this location, we have been able to assist our community members in better, more efficient ways. We are excited for the opportunities this space can offer our community, and are committed to continuing to make it a warm and inviting place for everyone. We look forwarding to updating you on how our new home supports our work.

PCFB Gets into Gardening with Etobigrow

In November, we collaborated with Etobigrow to install a hydroponic growing unit. Then, staff and volunteers participated in ‘information and training’ sessions. They learned about the intention behind the project, mechanics of hydroponic gardens, and how to use the unit — with overwhelming attendance and support!

Thanks to this unit, we will be able to provide fresh produce, such as lettuce and herbs, to our community members. In early 2026 we will be installing a green wall in the food bank as well. The current unit will function as the incubator for seedlings and young plants, before transferring to the green wall to grow and mature before clients take them home.

Thank You to our Corporate Volunteer Groups

Every year, groups from different corporations and organizations in Toronto and beyond come and volunteer with us. These volunteer groups work hard, supporting our team and helping our services run smoothly.

We are so thankful to all the many groups who participated this year!If you know of a group who may be interested in volunteering with us, click the link below for more information!

Dufferin Mall Gift Wrapping

A massive thank you to Dufferin Mall for their incredible support this holiday season!

They donated the space and supplies for our gift-wrapping booth, as well as a large donation of diapers!

Shout out to our volunteers who came and offered their time and gift wrapping expertise. Thanks to everyone who donated or volunteered, we raised over $9600!

Food Drive Thank-You

Over the course of the holidays, we were busy with all of the many food drives organized by community members, schools, and other organizations across Toronto. We are incredibly appreciative of the generosity and support shown from members of the community. Whether you organized a food drive or brought items to one… every donation contributes to supporting our clients through the holiday season, and beyond!

Thank you for being such an integral part of our community in 2025. We cannot wait to see what we will achieve together in the year ahead!

Warm regards,

The team at the Parkdale Community Food Bank
